What is a Modular Snap Gasket<top>

Snap Gasket is the first modular restaurant/commercial kitchen gasket with replaceable sides. When you buy your first Snap Gasket you'll receive four sides that easily snap together. If a tear develops, order a replacement side for less than half the cost of a traditional welded gasket.

Is a Modular Snap Gasket different than my old school gasket?  <top>

Yes and no! Snap Gaskets use the same OEM compatible material as a traditional welded gasket. They will seal just as well, or better than your original gasket.

Our modular gaskets, however, join and separate easily at the corners. This makes installation of your new Snap Gasket quick and easy.

Is there a difference between your black Snap Gasket™ and my gray original?  <top>

There is no difference other than color.

Because you only replace the damaged side, most of your new Snap Gasket™ will remain on the door much longer than a traditional gasket.

Natural staining occurs on most gray gaskets. While they are clean, their appearance often warrants a replacement. Snap Gaskets, being made of black material, will not show stains as easily.

How easy are Modular Snap Gaskets to install?  <top>

If you've installed an old-school welded gasket, you can install a Snap Gasket.  The installation process is fast and intuitive.

Once you have a Snap Gasket installed, repair is even easier. Just replace the worn out side instead of replacing the entire gasket.

Do I need to soak my Modular Snap Gaskets before installing them?  <top>

Traditional gaskets need to be soaked in water or heated up because they often come folded in a box and have developed wrinkles.

Snap Gaskets are shipped straight, without twisting, and arrive in perfect condition so there's no need to soak or heat them prior to installation.

What kind of material is Snap Gasket made of?  <top>

Snap gaskets are made from the same OEM compatible material that traditional gasket businesses have been using for years. Only a handful of U.S. companies extrude raw gasket material and, for the most part, it's all the same size and shape. Our proprietary blend of materials is, however, more durable than our competitors.

A Modular Snap Gasket is different because our gaskets separate at the corners. This allows for better shipping, reduced costs and easier installation.

When will Modular Snap Gaskets for other makes and models be available?  <top>

We are working on additional Snap Gaskets for more manufacturers constantly.

How do I clean my Snap Gaskets?  <top>

Like all gaskets, leave your Snap Gasket on the door or drawer. There's no need to take the gasket off the door to clean it. At the end of the day use a warm, damp washcloth to wipe down the gasket.  Gently pinch the top and bottom of the gasket with your washcloth and fingers to wipe the middle air channel (bellows).

Don't use cleaning solvents than will dry out the rubber and don't use a knife or other tool to dig into the crevices. That will shorten the life of your gasket.

How much am I really helping the environment?  <top>

There are about 660,000 restaurants in the United States.

Assuming an average of 12 gaskets replaced yearly in each restaurant, that's nearly 8 million gaskets - equivalent to 480,000 used tires!

If everyone replaced just one side of a damaged gasket instead of all four each time, together we could cut the amount of never-degrading rubber and magnet in our landfills by 75%.
